Cal look Drags 2017

This years event promises to be better than ever with more of the same winning formula - Hot VW's flexing their muscle on the drag strip!

Once again we return to Shakespeare County Raceway, however new for this year is a dedicated street car shootout which will incorporate a cruise on the Saturday evening to show the cars true road car credentials.

THE 2015 CALIFORNIA LOOK DRAG DAY

Welcome to the website for the California Look Drag Day. We're excited to announce our return to Santa Pod Raceway for this years Drag Day, which will be being held over the weekend of May the 16th and 17th.
Watch this space for further event and ticketing information, and for updates on what will be happening over the event - with some amazing race cars and street cars lined up to be in attendance, it promises to be one of the best Cal Look Drag Days ever held!

DRAG DAY  RACING 

As we all know Cal Look Drag Day is all about the racing. This year is no exception with Volkswagen only elimination rounds on the Saturday. We want everyone to get as much track time as possible and to make the racing as competitive as possible so we have decided to pair cars of equal performance. This gives everyone an equal chance. 

We will be coming round the pits taking info on times and grouping the cars as follows. 

9 - 10.99 second cars 

11 – 12.99 second cars 

13 – 14.99 second cars 

15 – 15.99 second cars 

We must add there will be no sand bagging. so you will need to run within 5 tenths of your time. Go allot faster and we’ll move you to another group. Only fair really. 

We would also really appreciate it if competitors could email us at drag-day@live.co.uk with you info ( name, car, ET and a few details about yourself) asap so we can start collecting info and arranging the groups prior to the day, because we are going to be busy cooking your breakfast Sunday morning..

Folks, just a reminder that Drag Day is organised on a not for profit basis in the free time of a very small group of racers and every dime collected from our sponsors is put back to you the racer, and monies collected at the gate go straight to the track, so please bear in mind that funds for the Freebies we've managed to organise are limited. To be eligible for the goody bags and racers breakfast (both to be given out on Sunday), you have to be in a 15.99 second or quicker VW Flat Four (the odd Renault Dauphine or Fiat is acceptable as long as it has a flat four VW powerplant) AND you MUST be racing on Sunday. Also, availability IS limited, so be sure to get signed in nice and early. The Drag Day team and sponsors have worked hard to give something back to the folks who make these events so special - you, the guys and gals who've put in the hard graft in to get their cars onto the track - RACERS, WE SALUTE YOU!
